However, the accepted description of the Barbados national flower is the red variety that has some yellow margins. This particular type also appears in the island's coat of arms. The five-petaled flower has an average size of 1.5 inches. The branches of the Barbados national flower are quite prickly, which means you need to be a little cautious when admiring the flowers up close.

Like any other country, Barbados takes pride in its rich culture and resonant heritage. The flower is just but one of the many symbols that can be directly attributed to the magnificent island. Although any local would claim that the Pride of Barbados has certainly become a perfect centerpiece in the island of lush greeneries and aquamarine waters. Aside from the national flower, there are also other plants worth seeing, such as the rare species of cacti and the orchids all in vivid colors, delightfully set in a truly awe inspiring landscape.
