Barbados Tourism

Barbados is a tiny island and occupies a small dot on the world map. However, it was and it still is one of the most-visited places in the entire globe.

The island of Barbados holds more charm per square mile of its area than the other islands in the Caribbean. In fact, Barbados tourism boasts of diverse activities that will definitely be worth anyone's time. Whatever reasons for your visit, you can delight in the different water-related sports and outdoor endeavors like jeep safaris and helicopter rides.

Before you take the flight out to Barbados, there are some travel tips to think about. Be sure that you are really ready to take the trip. Check the weather beforehand to see if you are bringing the most appropriate clothes and that you will be able to carry out activities as planned.

Barbados tourism doesn't expect you to know their currency by heart, but make sure you understand its conversion rate to the U.S. dollar. Since the Barbados dollar has a fixed rate against the U.S.'s at $1.00 U.S. to $1.98 BDS. Even though most establishments accept the U.S. dollars and major credit cards, it is still wise to take a few Barbados dollars handy.

Barbados tourism would tell us that it is not difficult to get to and around the island. There are plenty of airlines that offer flights to Barbados, and charter planes are available as well. The island has a pretty good road network and getting public transport is not an issue at all. Bus service is frequent and inexpensive. Public mini vans, with "ZR" on their license plates, are your other land transportation option. However, these are not recommended for those who do not want rough-driving. Barbados taxis do not employ the typical metering system. Government regulates the fares, so it is highly-advisable to ask a fare list in the Barbados tourism office. If you want to drive around yourself, there is a wide variety of cars for hire on the island. However, you need to obtain a driving permit aside from the driver's license from your country. You can get this from car rental companies, at the airport, or at the Ministry of Transport. You will only be charged a $10 BDS for registration fee.

Barbados is one of the best vacation venues. And with its perfect weather, endless activities, and convenient travel options, it is not that hard to figure out why.
