Beaches of Bermuda

You may have heard what a satisfying treat it is to tour the beaches of Bermuda. The island is known to have a world of its own which is not a wonder why their local economy has been booming due to tourism.

Here is a taste of the three beaches of Bermuda. Words are definitely not enough so to gratify the craving, you can always join about a hundred of cruises each year.

John Smith's Bay
Among the beaches of Bermuda who has a very colorful history and the only public seafront area in the whole of Smith's Parish, John Smith's Bay is named after a captain who was able to make a map of the island in 1631 even without having been able to set foot in the land. He was also one of the early British colonists in Virginia who was saved by the Indian- American Pocahontas. Surprisingly, she married John Rolfe who was one of those aboard Sir George Somer's Sea Venture that was eventually shipwrecked.
It is far from most of the popular hotels so it is not that widely known but this is surely a must- see because it naturally has crystal clear water. It is very ideal for snorkeling since it is only shallow and about 200 meters from the shore lies a reef that has abundant marine life.

Astwood Cove
Small and secluded ringed by steep cliffs, Astwood Cove is among the beaches of Bermuda that is abound with the nests of longtails as well as other birds that are spotted swooping through the sky. It is good for snorkeling but there are occasions that the currents can get pretty rough. Aside from that, there are also huge rocks scattered all around plus there are no lifeguards. It is just highly- recommended for those experts in swimming.
It looks over the cove with a very dazzling vista that has become a favorite venue for al fresco weddings. The facilities provided are picnic tables, parking spaces and step paths as well as toilets.

Shelly Bay Beach
Visitors may be expecting to bring home with them plenty shells upon their trip, Shelly Bay Beach derived its name from Henry Shelly. He is one of the crew of the shipwrecked Sea Venture that was owned by Sir George Somers. This is one of the beaches of Bermuda that has subtle and pretty pink sands which is then encircled by a cove that shelters it from the ocean waves.
The waters are very calm and shallow perfect for snorkeling especially for the beginners who would want to see the island's aquatic fauna. Tall tress also line in the shore that provide shade under the scorching heat of the sun. This place is ideal for small family gatherings as there is a playground where kids can enjoy the swings and slides.
