Overview
Historically known as La Garza Virgineola with The Somers Isles as its alias, Bermuda is an out of the country territory of the United Kingdom in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is situated about 600 miles off the region of the United States of America. It may have been commonly referred to as a single mass of land but it is actually composed of 138 islands with a total area of 58. 8 square kilometers.

Even with the fact that Bermuda has a limited area, there is the possibility to have the names of two places to be redudant. For instance, there are two Long Islands while the entire town of Saint George also has a particular site within bearing the same calling. Main Island is the biggest and also happens to be the location of its capital, Hamilton. It has a church called the Pembroke Parish but it is most of the time confused as Hamilton Parish.

Economy
An offshore abode of foreign corporations, Bermuda has a highly developed financial status that is concentrated on international business and tourism promotion. Higher than the United States, its per capita income is approximately 50% bigger in comparison. Data presents that their gross domestic product reached $4.5 billion in 2004 making them number one in the world basing in such area alone.

Regarded as the premier overseas commerce authority, Bermuda has no direct taxes imposed on either personal salary or corporate sales. Their domestic tariff system is grounded upon import duties as well as payroll and consumption. Plenty of leading continental insurance companies are based there where it has eventually been identified as the "global reinsurance center" because it is the pecuniary exporter.

The currency that they used is the Bermuda dollar which is also hooked to the United States money. In fact, when one is bringing American cash, there is no need for it to be exchanged to the local denomination. Their bills carry the image of Queen Elizabeth II.

Demographics
Of the population listed, 54.8% are black and 34.1% are white while those that are of mixed race are only 6.4%. A significant ancestry is composed of Portuguese heritage. This is because the Azores, who have existed over the past century have migrated to the island. Several families from Madeira then settled in the 1840's when the moving-in from the people of the West Indies continued.

Culture
Since they have been colonized by the British and the Americans, its way of life have been greatly influenced these once settlers. Even if most of its customs and traditions are of British origin, the American reflection can be overtly seen.

The two most important elements in their country is dance and music. A lot of its dances have come from the local native American tribes or the African slaves. As for its music, Caribbean rhythm dominates much.
