Copenhagen Weather

Who ever thought that The Little Mermaid was from Copenhagen? And does anyone know that she's so "part of our world" that Copenhagen celebrates her birthday every 23rd of August?

Perhaps what drove The Little Mermaid to Copenhagen is the fact that the city faces the sea and has a good share of nice lakes and canals. The biggest Scandinavian city, Copenhagen is proud of its environmental policy which frowns on automobiles and beams on bicycles instead.

Copenhagen weather varies much throughout the year, although rain and overcast skies dominate most of the time. The months from May to September mean comfortable temperatures. You can avoid the surge of tourists and see the flowers start blooming by visiting either in May or in June. If you don't care about the flood of tourists, you can join them in outdoor concerts and beach parties from July till August.

Due to the city's location in the northern part of Europe, a lot of people perceive Copenhagen weather to be mostly miserably cold. But in truth, Copenhagen is blessed with cool but cloudy winters, and comfortably warm summers.

Because Copenhagen weather is generally mild, it is a popular destination all throughout the year. Summer season has the most number of visitors. Copenhagen weather during these months brings in about 20degrees Celsius temperatures.

The winter months may not be as popular as the summer months for a visit, but they have their share of tourists. Copenhagen weather during this season involved temperatures that are either below or slightly above zero. But that is not enough to dampen the spirits of some visitors. The weeks before Christmas are the best time to get acquainted with Tivoli. The experience may be totally different from that during the summer season, but the park owns a totally unique winter appeal.

Rainfall in Copenhagen is also moderate and showers are spread all-year round. This means that rain can take place in all four seasons, which means that winter can be a varied season as well. Thus, tourists during the winter months can expect one or two snow showers. Even if Copenhagen weather is varied, the autumn months which are from September till October are considered the wettest periods of the year.

Regardless of the season of your visit, Copenhagen will enthrall you with its numerous sights and activities. From parks, to beaches, to museums, everyone is sure to find plenty of things worth engaging in – whether you like the sun, snow, or anything in between.
