Blessed with a rich and deep heritage, Cyprus culture runs throughout the past nine centuries --- and still counting.  Cyprus culture spreads through each Cypriots' bloodline, which they are proud of --- despite their obvious division in their country, from religion to food to environment to holidays to activities to whatever else they do.  Cypriots are proud of who they are and what they have become because of the great past and history that they have --- they know that this is where it came about and how Cyprus culture has become what it is today.

Cyprus culture runs deeper than what you see in the towns, villages, and cities.  It is truly felt and experienced when you face and get to know the Cypriots themselves that you realize how deep this culture penetrates their being.  Though Cyprus is somehow divided in religion --- Sunni Muslim vs. Greek Orthodox, food --- Turkish cuisines vs. Greek food, and etc., one would see that each group keeps a certain way of life that allows them to recreate the years that had been, even if it doesn't include the events of the past millennia, it is still clear how they try to improve and withstand the test of times, when it deals with Cyprus culture. 

The traditions and customs can best be witnessed through the many celebrations, events, ceremonies, occasions, etc. that Cypriots have, despite the differences of the groups' beliefs and rituals.  One of the best ways to observe Cyprus culture --- both past and present --- is through the rich folk art and crafts of the island.  It is also reflected in the different celebrations, feasts, special days, and other festivities that they have.  Cyprus culture also shines in the island's music and dance, with the variety of foreign influences in their 9000-year history, it is no wonder they have their own distinctive form and style. 

Cypriots try to live their culture everyday, instead of just celebrating it in a few days, that's why almost everyday, there's always a reason for people to enjoy life and their culture.  Keeping values, qualities, and customs alive and intact through all those centuries, have successfully worked because they know, they believe, and they do it.

With the long history that they have, and with the great island they're in, they must always look out for what's best for Cyprus culture.  It is only through enjoying and doing it, that one becomes in tuned and in one wit h the place he's in.
