Fiji Weather

If you want to have a concrete picture of a tropical country, the Fiji weather will give you a clear representation. The climate in this Southern Pacific republic changes from one region to another. With a rich distribution of rainfall, the condition is primarily influenced by the nation's topography. The trade winds soaked with moisture cause thick clouds to form over the highest points in the island. As for the larger districts namely Vanua Levu and Viti Levu, both have wet and dry zones.

December to April
The wet season of Fiji weather begins in December and ends up until April. During these months, the humid atmosphere can still be felt. Almost everyday in the late afternoon, there is heavy shower in the larger districts of this tropical country. For the smaller towns, rainfall is hardly experienced. It is also at these periods where heat stores up in the ocean causing the process of depression that motivates torrential precipitation, fierce winds and steamy cyclone.

For nature enthusiasts, December down to April are the best months to visit this Southern Pacific republic. They can witness right before their very eyes the abundant vibrancy of the forest such as the surge of the rivers and greenery of the plants. However, there is a stumbling block because mosquitoes proliferate copiously when Fiji weather is in wet season. When you head to the small yet luxurious resorts, those pestering insects would not be a bother because they shy away from the refreshing zephyr of the sea.

May to November
The dry season of Fiji weather commences in May and lasts through November. In these months, most of the districts in this tropical country have temperate climates. When the sun sets, there is profuse coolness around the surroundings. For those who live in the mountains, a jumper is regarded essential in the late evenings up to the early mornings. In the middle of July, majority of this Southern Pacific republic are greeted by rains.

For excursionists planning to hop in the island at these periods, they will surely find dusty towns, brown hills and dry rivers due to the kind of Fiji weather. Although, when their destination is towards the eastern coast specifically in Suva which is around Taveuni and Savusavu, the clouds seemingly stick over the highest points for a stretch of a week. It is in these towns that heavy downpour will never be missed out which helps in preserving the beautiful scenery and unsoiled air.
