If you're smart you'll hire a management company or a local manager to keep track of your vacation home though so that you don't have the hassle of dealing with trying to rent the place out from far away. You might not be able to afford a beachfront single family home in a swanky part of Miami but if you're willing to go a mile or so up the coast then you might be able to afford a nice single family home or townhouse that is right on the beach or close enough to the beach to make it a great vacation home.
