1. Swimming

2. Fishing

Because of the Kauai's richness in water, both freshwater and saltwater, fishing has been one of the most popular past time of tourists in the island. Both small mouth bass and large mouth bass can be taken from the island's inland reservoir. Other fishes abundant in the area are marlin, aku, ono and ahi. The private island of Niihau on the other hand is famous for its giant tuna catch.

To get to the best diving location, visit the waters on the Southern Shore where the water is calmer with visibility of about fifty feet. For those who are not that adventurous but still wants to experience and to see the vast sea life the island has to offer then snorkeling is for you. 5. Boating and Kayaking

If your cup of tea is just mildly gliding and basking in the great view surrounding the waters, then boating and kayaking is for you.
