Preparation is the key to getting the most out of one's vacation. Booking flights, making hotel reservations, and mapping out your itineraries are not the only things that you need to take care of. On top of those, guests should gather facts about London so that they would come prepared for the inevitable.

Although London weather is generally moderate, it can be fickle and very unpredictable. Normally, the year has a consistent share of mild precipitation. To understand London weather much better, and to be able to plan your travel a little more reliably, it is best that we take a look at it from a monthly basis.

January is mostly a temperate month. London weather at this time is neither too cold nor too wet. Towards the end of January, Atlantic winds start to blow in. The Grand New Year's day parade signals the fresh start of theatre and concert hall performances. Shopping is at its peak as sales abound during this month.

London weather in February is somewhat unpleasant because of the rain and dull clouds. Events like Chinese New Year and schools' holiday week will bring in more crowds on the streets. To avoid the hustle and bustle, visit some other time.

March is not unlike February, although London weather is a bit better. The sun starts to shine, but the city is still mostly wet and cold. Early Easter perks things up, and summer activities towards the end of the month are enough to lift one's spirits up.

April and May can sometimes be disappointing. In the hope of getting a better London weather in summer, it is usually a let down to see showers ruling some days.

June is a sight to behold. London weather brings in more sun and starts to dry up what frequent rains have left soaked over the past weeks.

July brings in a true-blue summer atmosphere. People can go outside and flaunt around in shirts. But the unpredictability of London weather can happen in the form of storms.

August sees a lot of tourists. While London weather is normally moderate within the month, hotel prices are not.

September is the best month to travel. London weather is tops, being dry towards the end of the month.

October is somewhat like the previous month, although with lesser buzz, and the possibility of rain.

November's London weather can be a tug-of-war between the end of summer and the onset of winter.

December can mean a chilly, yet dry London weather. But who cares? Christmas atmosphere eliminates all worries – chilly winter nights included.
