Mexico Spa Vacations

Mexico has always been a favorite among travelers looking for a dash of diversity in their itinerary. A country comprised of 31 states and one federal district, each offering their own brand of Mexican charm, whether flavored by ancient cultural heritage, Spanish European descent, Caribbean beaches, volcanic rock formations, pyramids and temples or gleaming modern resort areas. Diversity, thy name is Mexico.

The beaches are the main crowd-drawers. However, recently, with the sudden upsurge of Mexico spa vacations, people have taken to coming here just to see what it's all about.

A spa vacation is a great way to relax and allow yourself to be pampered. Instead of just treating you to a feast of Mexico's many visual splendors or to a soak in the cool waters of the Caribbean, Mexico spa vacations treats your whole body, including your mind and spirit, leaving you truly feeling refreshed, which is really what you look for in a vacation.

There are many kinds of Mexico spa vacations to choose from. The key to planning Mexico spa vacations is to learn the difference between these spa types. First is Destination Spas.

Many aficionados consider destination spas as the one true church when it comes to Mexico spa vacations. The week long stays and strict requirements of this type of spa vacations are said to offer the purest experience. The goal is transformation. And, of course, no transformation can happen unless discipline is instilled in the person.

Mexico spa vacations offering this type of spa experience often find guests in a very casual atmosphere, usually hanging around in their bathrobes without makeup. They are often rigid when it comes to the length of stay, the most usual being a week long. Some offer programs that fine tune physical fitness and promote weight loss. Others, on the other hand, provide medical workups and diet. But the downside to all this is that it can feel a lot like boot camp because of the strict routine.

If you are truly serious about transforming your lifestyle, then consider this type of Mexico spa vacations. However, if all you want to do is relax without having to suffer through so many restrictions, then you might be better off with the other kind of Mexico spa vacations: Resort Spas.

The good thing about resort spas is that they offer many of the destination spa services, like herbal wraps and yoga classes, but aren't as strict with routines. You can stay for as long as you want and can even go with a looser diet without having anyone at your back. Plus, Mexico spa vacations at spa resorts often mean that you can take advantage of other resort features, like golf, sunbathing, and scuba diving.

No matter choice you have on the matter, keep in mind that Mexico spa vacations can be expensive. All-inclusives especially, but that is only because you are not only paying for the spa but for other services as well, like food and beverages. Most Mexico spa vacations average at $2,000 to $3,000 a week, perhaps with additional charges for treatments. It certainly is not a vacation for the whole family but if your goal is to get away from stress, then it's all worth it.
